Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024

On 01 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;

(a) Burrows Lane (D227) Gomshall that is crossed by the level crossing known as "Burrows Lane Level Crossing" and for a distance of 20 metres on either side; and

(b) Suspend "The Surrey County Council Burrows Lane (D227) Gomshall Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023" in its entirety.

Alternative Route: Burrows Lane, Hook Lane, Sandy Lane, Shere Heath Road, Park Road, New Road, (A248) Sherbourne, (A25) Shere Road, and Queen Street, or this route in reverse.

The Order is required to facilitate signal and telecom maintenance and renewal of rail works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to take place over two sperate dates;

(1) on 15 May 2024 for a period of 3 nights between the hours of 10pm and 6am and

(2) on 17 June 2024 for a period of 5 nights between the hours of 10pm and 6am during the 18-month period of operation of this

Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 15 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. No sole access is affected by this closure.
