Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Road (D2080) Epsom as extends from its junction with (D2124) Providence Place and (D2226) Hawthorne Place to its junction with (A24) East Street.

Alternative Route: (1) (D2080) Church Road, (A2022) Upper High Street, (A2022) Alexandra Road, (A2022) College Road, Longdown Lane North, (A240) Reigate Road, (A24) Ewell By-pass, (A24) Epsom Road, and East Street;

(2) (A24) East Street, (B288) Windmill Lane, (B288) Bridge Road, and (A2022) Alexandra Road;

(3) (A24) East Street, (A24) High Street, and (A2022) Upper High Street.

This Order is required to facilitate a safety zone for works being carried out on (A24) East Street, these works are for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, between the hours of 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday only, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 April 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
