Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Greville Close (D4001) Guildford.

This Order is required to facilitate ground preparation works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible and will take 4 weeks to complete, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 04 April 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.
