Horsham Road (A281) Alfold
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Horsham Road (A281) Alfold as extends from its junction with (B2133) Loxwood Road to its junction with (X68217) Hook Street.

Alternative Route: (A281) Horsham Road, (B2130) Elmbridge Road, (B2128) The Common, (B2128) High Street, (A281) Guildford Road, (B2128) Horsham Road, (B2128) Cox Green, (B2128) Church Street, and (A281) Guildford Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works for, or on behalf of Newlands Construction Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 nights between 8pm and 6am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 02 April 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency services will be maintained via the banksmen on site. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
