Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 22 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Leith Hill Road (C43) Abinger as extends from its junction with (D289) Tanhurst Lane to its junction with (D285) Sheephouse Lane.

Alternative Route: Leith Hill Road, (B2126) Etherley Hill, (B2126) Ockley Road, (B2126) Holmbury Lane, (B2126) Miles Hill, (B2126) Horsham Road, Pasture Wood Road, and Leith Hill Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate water utility works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 03 June 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. No sole access is affected by this closure.
