Lower Road (D265) Effingham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;

(a) Lower Road (D265) Effingham as extends from its junction with (C43) The Street to its junction with (X265) Effingham Place;

(b) Suspend the 7.5 tonne weight restriction for heavy commercial vehicles in The Street (C43) Effingham imposed by "The County Council of Surrey (Various Roads in Effingham) (Weight Restriction) Order 1983" insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (b) of this Notice.

Alternative Route: The Street, (A246) Guildford Road, Hawkwood Rise, The Lorne, and Lower Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate utility connection works for, or on behalf of ALS Civil Engineers. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 8 days between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 05 April 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
