Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;

(a) Markedge Lane (D1157) Merstham as extends from its junction with (D1158) Harps Oak Lane to its junction with the access to the property known as "Lodge Farm"; and

(b) Suspend "The Surrey County Council Markedge Lane (D1157) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023" insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice.

Alternative Route: Harps Oak Lane, (A23) London Road North, Gatton Bottom, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to carry out telecom utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 03 April 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
