Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024

On 15 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;

(a) Markenfield Road (D4005) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D4005) Nettles Terrace to its junction with (A322) Woodbridge Road; and

(b) Suspend "The Surrey County Council Markenfield Road (D4005) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024" insofar as it affects the length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice.

Alternative Route: (1) Markenfield Road, (A320) Stoke Road, (A246) York Road, (A322) Woodbridge Road, and at the (A322) Woodbridge Roundabout take third exit back onto (A322) Woodbridge Road;

(2) Nettles Terrace, Dapdune Road, (A322) Woodbridge Road, and at the (A322) Woodbridge Roundabout take third exit back onto (A322) Woodbridge Road.

This Order is required to facilitate water utility works for, or on behalf of Talboys Utility Services (Oxford). These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8.30am and 2pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 May 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. All other vehicular traffic to follow the diversion route.
