Various Roads in the Borough of Elmbridge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024
On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 of the Act the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads described in the Schedule to this Notice.
This Order is required to facilitate highways improvements, carriageway surfacing, and/or maintenance works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 April 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
Schedule
(a) The entire length of Ashley Park Road (D3858) Walton On Thames.
Alternative Route: (B365) Ashley Road and Station Avenue, or this route in reverse.
(b) The entire length of Rydens Road (D3830) Walton On Thames.
Alternative Route: (1) (A244) Hersham Road, (A244) Ashley Road, (A244) New Zealand Avenue, (A244) Bridge Street, (A3050) Hepworth Way, (A3050) Church Street, (A3050) Terrace Road, (B369) Walton Road, and (C153) Molesey Road; and
(2) (C153) Molesey Road, (B369) Walton Road, (A3050) Terrace Road, (A3050) Church Street, (A3050) Hepworth Way, (A244) Bridge Street, (A244) New Zealand Avenue, (A244) High Street, and (A244) Hersham Road.
(c) That length of High Street (D3809) Walton On Thames as extends from its junction with (A244) New Zealand Avenue to its junction with (A3050) Hepworth Way.
Alternative Route: (1) (A3050) Hepworth Way, (A3050) Bridge Street, and (A244) New Zealand Avenue; and
(2) (A244) High Street, (A244) Ashley Road, (A244) New Zealand Avenue, (A3050) Bridge Street, and (A3050) Hepworth Way.
(d) The entire length of Brooklands Road (B374) Weybridge.
Alternative Route: (B373) Hanger Hill, (A317) Queens Road, (B365) Seven Hills Road, and (A245) Byfleet Road, or this route in reverse.
