Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 10 April 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Waterhouse Lane (B2032) Kingswood as extends from a point in line with the western boundary of the property known as "Woodcot" to a point in line with the eastern boundary of the property known as "Hornbeams".
Alternative Route: (B2032) Outwood Lane, (B2219) Lower Park Road, (B2219) Holly Lane, (B2219) Bolters Lane, (A2022) Bolters Lane, (A217) Brighton Road, (B2032) Bonsor Drive, and (B2032) Waterhouse Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate new water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 April 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
