Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 22 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Weare Street (D293) Capel as extends from its junction with (B2126) Coles Lane and to a point in line with the southern boundary to the property known as "Russets".

Alternative Route: (D293) Weare Street, (A29) Stane Street, and (B2126) Coles Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate highways improvement and/or major highway maintenance works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 03 June 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner. Due to the nature of the works, and because of the likelihood of danger to the public there will be no access through the closure area. All traffic will be required to use the signed diversion routes. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
