Temporary Speed Limit Order 2024
On 08 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be;
a) to prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding at a speed greater than 30 MPH in that length of;
(a) the eastbound carriageway of Westerham Road (A25) Westerham as extends from its junction with (D476) Westerham Road to its junction with (C80) Moorhouse Road; and
(b) the westbound carriageway of Westerham Road (A25) Westerham as extends from its junction with (C80) Moorhouse Road to its junction with (D476) Westerham Road; and
(c) Suspend "The Surrey County Council Westerham Road (A25) Limpsfield (50 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2018" and any Speed Limit Order made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects the length of road described in (a) and (b) of this Notice.
This Temporary Traffic Order is required to allow a safe working zone in connection new electrical connection works for, or on behalf of ALS Civil. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 17 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 22 May 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary speed limit which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 or in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
