Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 20 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Wheeler Lane (D143) Godalming as extends from its junction with (A283) Petworth Road to its junction with (D656) Sunny Hill.
Alternative Route: (A283) Petworth Road, (A283) Cherry Tree Roundabout, (A286) Haslemere Road, Gasden Lane, and Wheeler Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of NIO Comm Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible between the hours of 9am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 8 April 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
