About this subject
Create your own beautiful stained glass, glass fusing or creative glass. You can do so in our dedicated glass studios.
You will work with materials such as glass, foil, lead, and copper. You will use them to make unique art for your home or to give as gifts.
Our Guildford studio is a large, bright, high ceilinged studio dedicated to the craft of glass. The studio has spacious work benches will all tools needed to cut, solder, lead, cement, and polish. This includes Taurus glass saws, grinders, a light box, and a kiln.
Our courses run over a period of weeks for a term. We have three terms in the year from September to July plus short courses at the start of summer. We also offer more specific one-day workshops throughout the year.
Enrolments open every term in March, July and November. If courses have already started you may still be able to join so please contact us.

You can experiment with glass accessories including confetti, frits, paints, and stringers. Learn to make a wide range of art pieces. This includes jewellery, bowls, sculptures, panels, and ornaments.

You will learn how to design and hand cut glass. Assemble with lead and copper foil, solder and apply a patina, cement and polish.
Improvers will work on their project (any size) at their own pace with tutor guidance. More advanced learners can progress to 2D or 3D copper foiling (Tiffany technique). They can also learn glass painting and enamelling which can be fired in our kiln.
Please note a project bigger than 20 glass pieces is likely to take longer than one term to complete.
