Learn how to generate power, improve your reaction times and dodge that oncoming pad!
We offer beginner's courses. They are ideal for people who want to learn from a basic level in a small, sociable group. In each session, you will improve strength, stability, and endurance. You will also increase your confidence and learn to defend yourself in a sociable and fun setting.
All learners must complete a learner health information checklist and submit it before the first class.
Our courses run over a period of weeks for a term. We have three terms in the year from September to July plus short courses at the start of summer.
Enrolments open each term in March, July and November. If courses have already started you may still be able to join so please contact us.

Course levels and information
We run weekly beginners courses. Get stuck in using punch bags, pads, and dumbbells. You will also practice shadow boxing whilst switching it up with squats, lunges, and abs.
You will need to wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to reach up and bend down. We have a water fountain located by reception so we recommend you bring a water bottle.
Fees and discounts
We have many discounts and fee support options. These include money off your first course if you are a library member, Surrey Heritage user, or over 66.
