Pilates adult learning courses

About this subject

Pilates

Pilates is a great way to build core strength and improve flexibility whilst keeping you healthy and active.

We offer mixed ability courses. You will focus on alignment, balance, breathwork, posture, and core stability. No matter your level of experience, you will feel these benefits in this course. Your tutor will ensure you work at the right level for you.

All learners must complete a learner health information checklist and submit it before the first class.

Our courses run over a period of weeks for a term. We have three terms in the year from September to July plus short courses at the start of summer.

Enrolments open each term in March, July and November. If courses have already started you may still be able to join so please contact us.

If courses are full please sign up to our newsletter to hear when enrolments open again.

Course levels and information

We run weekly mixed ability courses. We will mainly cover floor-based exercises at a level that suits you. Then, you will practice and perfect them over a period of weeks.

You will need a non-slip Yoga mat. You will also need a block. If you don't have one, a firm cushion, or thick book would be an acceptable alternative. Some tutors use a stretch band or a ball for some exercises. This is not essential but will aid you in your workout.

The tutor can advise on buying blocks, bands, and balls. They can also suggest alternative exercise variations if you do not have them. We have a water fountain located by reception so we recommend you bring a water bottle.
