About this subject
Tai Chi is an ancient oriental art. You will learn a variety of exercises to develop balance, body awareness, and mental focus. You will do this through a set sequence of slow, precise movements.
Whether you are new to Tai Chi or want to revisit some forgotten moves, our courses will set you on your way. We offer beginners, improvers and mixed ability courses. On each course you will gain the skills and knowledge to practise the exercises at home. You will learn how to fit them in to your daily routine.
All learners must complete a learner health information checklist and submit it before the first class.
Our courses run over a period of weeks for a term. We have three terms in the year from September to July plus short courses at the start of summer.
Enrolments open each term in March, July and November. If courses have already started you may still be able to join so please contact us.
If courses are full please sign up to our newsletter to hear when enrolments open again.

Your tutor may suggest using household items to help you practice Tai Chi, but will discuss this with you beforehand. this will give you time to find such items, or find suitable alternatives. We have a water fountain located by reception so we recommend you bring a water bottle.
