Course intent

The intent of this session is to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness, wellbeing but also improve posture, balance, and coordination.

Pilates is a non-aerobic approach to safe rebalancing of the body.

This session will take place on Tuesday 2 July 2024.

What will we cover?

Posture, strength and flexibility will be improved through a series of (mainly) floor-based exercises, introduced slowly over a period of weeks and then practised and perfected over the course. The tutor will give you variations for each exercise suited to your own level of experience and ability.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is for those with a minimum of three years’ experience of practising Pilates and who are able, comfortably, and safely, to perform a range of improvers’ level Pilates exercises.

You will be asked to complete a Pre-Exercise Check List at the start of the course so that the tutor knows your current health needs and abilities.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Wear comfortable clothing which allows a full range of movement. Have extra layers and/or a blanket available for relaxation. You will need a non-slip mat, please borrow one from the centre if needed.

Your tutor will use a range of resources, all are available at the centre. You will also need drinking water.

What can I do when I finish the course?

We offer a range of Pilates throughout the year. Please look at the website for more information or ask your tutor.
