Course intent

A course for those of you looking to build your confidence and try new techniques. This is a friendly course, ideal for anyone wanting to try new recipes or master a specific dish.

What will I learn?

You will cover everything from soups, fish, meat, filled pasta, vegetables, scones, cakes, or breads. A fantastic opportunity to learn, cook and have fun, in a small group with our highly experienced tutor, Helen Little. She will provide you with the skills and techniques to leave the course with the confidence to carry on cooking at home.

Special features: · Small class size means there is a close working relationship with Helen. · You can enjoy sampling your tasty food prepared in class.

Flexible learning and learner led. As a class you can shape your lesson.

Lots of opportunity for you to choose the recipes you want to learn.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is designed for all cooks. The course is not suitable for beginner cooks.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please ensure you have completed the following before the first session: · Returned a completed food allergies form. The link will be emailed to you. · Informed your tutor helen.wood@surreycc.gov.uk if you would like alternatives for week 1 dishes. · You will be emailed the recipe and shopping lists for the first class. You will be given recipes and shopping lists each week for the following class.

What can I do when I finish the course?

We offer a range of culinary workshops and courses throughout the term, look at our website for all the details. It would be great to see you again.

Additional Information

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
