History - Talk and Walk - Clerkenwell, London

High volumes of enquiries - July 2024

Due to high numbers of enquiries, there are currently longer waiting times on the phones and a delay to responses for voicemails, emails and enquiries.

We apologise for any inconvenience and are working as quickly as possible to get to you.

Course intent

To introduce you to different part of London, so that you can return later and explore in more depth, if you wish.

What will I learn?

In this two-part course, a talk at Esher, at the first session, will cover some of the history and current attractions of Clerkenwell. It will be followed with a two-hour walking tour on the second session in London and will offer the chance to consolidate what has been learnt.

Details will be given in the first session.

For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

For anyone who would like to explore an area of London by attending a talk in Esher and, the following week, a two-hour walk in Clerkenwell. No prior knowledge is assumed.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

If you want to take notes at the first class, please bring pen and paper or laptop.

What can I do when I finish the course?I

You can revisit the area on a later occasion, either alone or with friends, and take a closer look at some of the areas covered.
