We apologise for any inconvenience and are working as quickly as possible to get to you.

Course intent

Learn simple methods for mending clothes with rips, holes and stains to give the garment a new lease of life while saving it from landfill. Inspired by the Japanese techniques of Sashiko and Kintsugi, celebrate the garment and its repair by making the mend visible whilst adding personality to the item and finishing with an individual piece.

Bring along your old clothes or work on pieces of fabric samples to try the techniques before stitching onto your garments.

Learn with a RSN (Royal School of Needlework) trained professional embroiderer and RSN tutor who has recently won has won the Embroiders Guild, Beryl Dean Award for Teaching Excellence.

What will I learn?

You will learn: · Surface stitches to cover small holes · Darning to cover medium holes · Patching to cover larger holes · Stitches to enhance stains. · Different options for stabilising worn fabrics · Exploring lots of ideas for personalising items.
