We apologise for any inconvenience and are working as quickly as possible to get to you.

Course intent

Practise, maintain and develop your high-level language skills in a friendly, informal environment with the support of an experienced tutor.

What will I learn?

During this course, you will develop the language skills to freely discuss a range of everyday topics, news & current affairs, culture and travel, using complex language and structures accurately. This course will use a wide range of activities designed to broaden your vocabulary and practice and revise grammatical structures in context. You may work in pairs and groups to practise your speaking skills.

Content is tailored to the needs and interests of the class. You can expect to use a variety of materials such as course books, news articles, TV programmes, literature and internet resources. Your tutor may give you additional tasks to complete outside of the lesson to help you make the most of your course.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Advanced Conversation is suitable for learners who have completed our Upper Intermediate level course, who have studied the language for seven or more years, or who have C1 level language skills in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

You should feel confident expressing your thoughts and argue your viewpoint convincingly. You should also have a good grasp of a range of tenses and more complex grammatical structures.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please bring a notepad and pen.

Your tutor will advise you of any required materials. These typically cost £15 - £30 and will be used for more than one term / year.

You may wish to purchase additional study aids such as CDs, workbooks, dictionaries, and grammar books, which are optional.

This course will be delivered through live online sessions using Zoom. To fully participate in this course, you will need:
