If you are nervous in the kitchen are new to the kitchen or just want to learn more recipes, then Cookery for Men is the course for you. The intent of this course is for you to learn a range of basic skills and knowledge enabling you to produce tasty, seasonal, and healthy dishes from scratch, and adapt recipes with confidence long after the course.

What will I learn?

The Cookery for Men course includes: · knife skills. · store cupboard ingredient knowledge. · essential, basic cookery skills · using a range of kitchen appliances · a focus on seasonal produce · recognising ingredients that work well together. · meal planning · food safety and kitchen hazard knowledge · adaptations for specific diets – gluten free or vegetarian for example

Recipes are based on the seasons but usually include a main dish, then either a starter or dessert.

The course is largely learner-led, with the dishes taught being chosen with the learners’ wishes and tastes in mind. The tutor will evolve the course with the learners.
