Course intent

Vegan Living Food chef Lynn Parry-Jones will share her passion for the Gut Microbiome and the ancient alchemy of culturing in this workshop. You will discover how vitally important it is to have healthy gut bacterial diversity and the many ways it can improve your health, alongside learning how to make simple cultured foods, packed full of beneficial bacteria.

What will I learn?

During this workshop you will learn how to prepare the following cultured foods, using simple health promoting ingredients. · Cultured Cashew Cream - Savory & Sweet · Cultured Coconut Yogurt · Coconut Milk · Tropical Overnight Oats with cultured coconut cream

Lynn is passionate about health and the power that food has a medicine. She is happy to share some of her 30 years’ experience as a Health Educator.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

The workshop welcomes everyone. You will need to supply: · A glass bottle approx. 500ml - 1000ml with screw lid. A used, washed bottle is fine. · A 300g (approx) glass jar with screw lid or kilner type flip tops. Used washed jars are fine. · 2 glass or Tupperware type containers with sealable lids to take home your oat dish

What do I need to bring to the first class?

Please ensure you have completed the following before the first session: · Returned a completed food allergies form. The link will be emailed to you. · Contacted Surrey Adult Learning if you would like alternatives for any dishes. · You will be emailed a workbook listing all you need to know for the workshop. Please read the workbook. This will outline the ingredients you need to bring with you and what will be supplied.

What can I do when I finish the course?

We offer a range of culinary workshops and courses throughout the term, look at our website for all the details. It would be great to see you again.

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
