Course intent
Make a beautiful textured silver bangle and, if time, to add a special silver charm. The workshop is ideal if you are keen to create jewellery either for yourself or as a gift.
What will I learn?
You will learn · how to experiment with different textures that will be applied to your bangle · piercing · filing · soldering · texturing · measuring · forming metals · simple design skills.
You can aim to create a small silver charm to add to your unique bangle.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This workshop is suitable for beginners and also for those who have some previous experience of making jewellery and would like to extend their skills. All abilities are welcome. Jewellery making involves a lot of fine work so having steady hands will help
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You need to bring: · a plain notebook and pencil · sea glass if you have some – there will be a choice of pieces if you haven’t any or the piece that you bring isn’t suitable. Sea glass should be no more than 4mm thick. · Wear closed toe shoes (no flip flops) · Remove long scarves. · Long hair to be tied back. · Bring an apron or wear old clothes.
What can I do when I finish the course?
In discussion with your tutor you may like to progress onto our Jewellery and Silverwork course or enhance your learning on one of our Summer Jewellery workshops.
