Knitting - Knit a Pair of Handwarmers - Improvers

Course intent

To produce a pair of bespoke, gorgeous handwarmers in your chosen colours, suitable for a teenager or adult.

What will I learn?

You will learn to cast on and knit with different rib combinations, experiment with different colours, patterns and stitches within the framework of a simple knitting pattern as well as calculate pattern adjustments for different sizes. We will knit flat to encourage experimentation, anything goes!

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is for improvers.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

You need to bring yarns within the dk/worsted range with the appropriate needle size and a wool darning needle. You will need 1-2 balls of yarn depending on the size.

What can I do when I finish the course?

You can continue to extend your skills by trying more complicated patterns and knit in the round versions and take further classes to expand your skills. There is a knit a watch cap workshop on Saturday 23rd November in Guildford with the same tutor.
