Course intent
Make one-off handmade Christmas cards, tags and gift boxes or Christmas tree decorations using watercolours and watercolour paper. Add metallic gold and silver flourishes and details to create beautiful, personalised gifts and decorations for Christmas.
What will I learn?
Learn to: · plan your designs · mix vivid, jewel-bright, Christmas colours · use a range of watercolour techniques · how to assemble your 3D creations
There tutor will demonstrate techniques and provide individual support.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is suitable for anyone who already uses watercolour paints and would like to design and make Christmas cards / gift tags / gift bxes /decorations.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You need to bring: · Notebook/Sketchbook, · soft pencil – 2B/4B · ruler · putty rubber, · watercolour paper A3 size, · watercolour paints, watercolour brushes, palette, · metallic paints if you already have some (the tutor will have some to share), · PVA glue or double-sided tape, scissors or craft knife with safety cover, · Cutting mat if you already have one (the tutor will have one to share)
What can I do when I finish the course?
There are many opportunities to take up other art & craft classes, including further drawing and watercolour painting courses and workshops.
