Mindfulness - Getting Started

Course intent

· At times do you feel tense, anxious, or stressed? · Do you find it hard to switch off negative thoughts?

Then using Mindfulness techniques in your everyday life could be helpful for you.

What will I learn?

Over 3 session you will practice mindfulness techniques and explore how they could reduce your stresses and keep you in control.

The course will focus on: - How stress and anxiety affect you and those around you - Recognising your triggers and how to switch off negative thinking. - Tools, techniques and practices to help you be more Mindful

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

The course is open to everyone. Those completely new to Mindfulness and those refreshing techniques

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please bring a notepad or mobile device to take notes. Any lesson slides and additional written information on the techniques discussed will be provided.

What can I do when I finish the course?

If you would like to continue your learning, we offer a 6-week Mindfulness: Stress Management and Relaxation Techniques course which will provide you with many more techniques and practices to form positive habits which you can use to improve your everyday life.

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
