Course intent
In this course you will learn the painting and drawing knowledge and skills needed to develop and expand your range of techniques whether you are a beginner or already have some experience. According to your level, you will develop drawing, painting and design skills, gaining a deeper understanding of the range of techniques and processes.
What will I learn?
You will learn: · Oil Painting techniques · Acrylic Painting techniques · The use of materials and tools · the use of a sketchbook, · the use of photographs and found images in developing an image, · Direct observation · Colour · Tonal values · Composition
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
Those with some experience of painting would be helpful but not essential. This course is useful for those who need a refresher as well as those who are just starting out.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
Bring whatever Oil and/or Acrylic painting materials you may already have purchased or: · a graphite stick for the first session. · a pad of A3 cartridge paper · Soft grade of pencils (4B or 6B) · soft rubber · wear an apron or other protective clothing
What can I do when I finish the course?
In discussion with your tutor, you may like to progress onto longer courses or enrol on our other Arts and Crafts courses.
