Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is suitable for all abilities – for beginners and those who have completed watercolour workshops and other introductory courses. Some experience of drawing and painting would be helpful but is not essential. Useful for those who need a refresher as well as those with only a little experience.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

You need to bring:

For the first session bring whatever Oil materials you may already have purchased or a basic set of oil colours, low odour brush cleaner (Sansodar), oil medium (linseed oil or liquin), a tear off palette, dipper for solvents, 3 flat or filbert hog hair brushes. You will also need some oil sketching paper or a canvas or canvas board.

Or bring any watercolour materials you have or a set of watercolours, preferably pans rather than tubes. You will need watercolour brushes, a palette and a pad of watercolour paper (Cold pressed/NOT surface) weight 300gsm.
