Course intent

This course focusses on women’s wellbeing, providing yoga knowledge and yoga skills to support you to recover, heal and strengthen as your body changes and experiences different stages in life. This course is aimed at: · Providing ease and relaxation techniques for peri menopause · Preparing and transitioning through menopause · Focussing on pelvic floor, improving sleep and energy levels as our bodies change

What will I learn?

We will learn a range of yoga postures in standing, seated and lying down positions. We will also learn breathing exercises (pranayama) and a range of other yogic practices such as meditation, mantra, kriyas, asana, and yoga philosophy.

Your tutor will give variations for each exercise suited to your own level of experience and ability. The tutor may use equipment, such as blocks or bolsters, to help you achieve better alignment. You will be able to practise the exercises at home and fit them into your daily routine.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is suitable for every female of all abilities.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Wear comfortable clothing which allows a full range of movement and bring extra layers for relaxation. Yoga is practised with bare feet.

You will need: · A non-slip yoga mat, either bring your own or borrow one of ours · Bring a water bottle, we have fountains to refill. · To complete the health check (please click on link in your enrolment email)

When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
