Course intent

You and your family will develop practical skills and knowledge in cooking healthy dishes. This will impact positively on your family wellbeing

What will I learn?

This is a FREE online three-week course (1.5 hours per week) you will learn and later practise your skill at using apples during cooking. Using apples as the main ingredients, you will be doing healthier dishes including apple strudel with filo pastry. A great seasonal fruit with many recipes. You will be able to develop your confidence at using different ingredients and methods to make different apple themed dishes for the whole family. · Learn new cooking skill using apples. · How to make apple themed dishes

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is for parents, carers, grandparents and children aged 5 + who want to cook together. This is delivered online via Zoom

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

What do I need to bring : · Have your camera on · Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course. · Please attend all sessions · A reliable internet connection · A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera · A pen and paper · Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts. · Fill out the `Getting to know you` form and fill out `Tell us what you think` form · Contact us on family.learning@surreycc.gov.uk if you have any questions

What can I do when I finish the course?

At the end of this course, we will give you details of what you can move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with Surrey Adult Learning, a college or employment

When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
