Microsoft Word Processing - Introduction [HPT]

Course intent

You will use the popular Excel software, part of the Microsoft Office suite, to create basic documents, incorporating simple formatting and page layouts. Word is a powerful word-processing tool which can help you produce professional letters, CVs brochures, flyers, cards, mailshots and much more.

If you use/have used a different word-processing programme, the skills learned here are easily transferrable.

What will I learn?

You will: · Creating, editing, saving & printing documents · Formatting text, paragraphs and pages · Working with images and shapes · Changing the page layout · Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This beginner’s course is for · Anyone with good computer, mouse and keyboard skills · If you are completely new to computers, please look at our Digital Skills & Confidence courses

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

A notebook and pen

Although this course is delivered for Word you can transfer your skills to other word-processing software such as Google Docs, Apple’s Pages, WordPad or the free online version of Office.
