Course intent

This mid-level course is designed to increase your understanding and expertise in Microsoft Excel. By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to effectively analyse, manipulate, and present data using Excel's advanced features.

If you use/have used a different spreadsheet programme, the skills learned here are easily transferrable.

What will I learn?

You will: · Demonstrate proficiency in absolute and relative cell addressing. · Construct pivot tables and charts to visually summarise and analyse data. · Use validation techniques to minimise data entry errors. · Apply advanced conditional formatting using the "If Formula Is" feature. · Use Hlookup and Vlookup functions to cross-reference data. · Manage multiple workbooks proficiently. · Use templates and various file formats to streamline Excel workflow. · Use advanced formatting and page layout options. · Use advanced functions and addressing techniques, with a focus on the IF function. · Enhance chart and graph formatting. · Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

This course is for · Anyone with good computer, mouse and keyboard skills · individuals who already possess a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and want to elevate their skills to an intermediate level · If you are completely new to computers, please look at our Digital Skills & Confidence courses

To fully participate in this course, you will need: · An email address · A reliable internet connection · A computer/laptop /tablet with a fully updated browser · A working microphone and webcam.

If you struggle to read printed text on a screen, you may find it beneficial to have access to a printer to make your own hard copies of resources.
