Course intent
You will use the popular PowerPoint software, part of the Microsoft Office suite, to create more advanced presentations, incorporating text formatting, design layouts, image enhancement and animations. PowerPoint is a powerful presentation tool used for presenting for an interview, demonstrating ideas to clients, explaining a concept or procedure to employees, teaching a class, laying out documents or creating a photo album.
If you use/have used a different presentation programme, the skills learned here are easily transferrable.
What will I learn?
You will: · Understand what makes a powerful presentation. · Create a presentation using different slide layouts. · Find images, sound and videos online that comply with copyright law. · Use transitions and animations effectively. · Insert and enhance images, sound and videos into different slides. · Use Design and Designer to enhance the appearance of the slides. · Create a photo album. · Create a Table into a slide. · Insert a Chart into a slide. · Use Notes and Handouts effectively. · Use the Slide Show to rehearse a presentation. · Explore and download templates. · Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values.

This intermediate course is for · Anyone with good computer, mouse and keyboard skills · If you are new to PowerPoint or presentations, please try our PowerPoint – Introduction course first. · If you are completely new to computers, please look at our Digital Skills & Confidence courses
This course will be delivered through live online sessions using Zoom.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
To fully participate in this course, you will need: · Access to a computer/laptop/tablet with a reliable internet connection · A working microphone, and webcam

If you struggle to read printed text on a screen, you may find it beneficial to have access to a printer to make your own hard copies of resources.
