Course intent

You will learn the fundamentals of Python programming language through hands-on exercises and projects.

The course is structured to gradually introduce foundational programming concepts, starting from basic syntax and data types, progressing to control flow, functions, and data structures.

What will I learn?

You will: · Describe the concepts of programming and the use of coding in the digital world. · Learn foundational programming skills and problem-solving techniques. · Identify essential programming concepts such as variables, functions, and data structures. · Gain practical experience through coding exercises and projects. · Observe and discuss Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This beginner’s course is for · Absolute beginners with no prior programming experience · Anyone interested in learning computer programming for personal or career development · Anyone with a willingness to learn and study.

Access to a computer at home is helpful but not essential.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Notepad and pen. No extra costs

What can I do when I finish the course?

This course may help you decide whether programming is of interest to you as a career. If so, there will be opportunities to continue this course to stage 2 to develop your programming skills and experience. Or your tutor can direct you to ‘Next steps’ section, on our web site, if you wish to do something else
