Course intent

Develop your photography skills using your digital compact camera and learn how to change images, save, and organise your photos on a computer.

What will I learn?

During this course you will have the opportunity to:

Establish how to compose different styles of photographs.

Use software to process and store your photographs.

Create and present a slide show of your photographs.

Improve confidence and social skills through taking part in group activities.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is for Entry Level learners with a learning disability, it is designed to help learners progress from their individual starting point to build confidence, independence, and social skills for everyday life.

You need to have basic literacy skills e.g. be able to recognise/write some words and ideally read simple sentences.

You must be willing to follow instructions, guidance on health and safety and be ready to work as part of a team.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Please bring a Digital Camera with an empty memory card, power cable and Instruction Manual.

Bring a pen and reading glasses if you use them.

What can I do when I finish the course?

After this course you could progress to another supported learning course, or further courses with Surrey Adult Learning. We will meet with you to give information, advice, and guidance on your next step.

Additional Information

Bring a drink or money to buy refreshments during a short break.

Carers and/or family members supporting in the class will be required to follow our guidelines and sign a Personal Assistant Agreement.
