Essential Digital Skills (EDSQ) - Entry 3

Course intent

You will acquire the skills and knowledge to navigate today’s digital world and gain a national qualification at Level 1 (created in April 2019), This qualification supports adults who want to join the digital world by learning digital skills for life, their work or for use in further study.

Before you enrol on this course, you will need to attend an information, advice, and guidance session, to check this level is right for you.

What will I learn?

The Essential Digital Skills standards are: · Using devices and handling information (includes how to store information) · Creating and editing · Communicating online (such as via social media) · Transacting (buying) online activities · Being responsible, safe, and legal online · Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

This is a fully funded course; with the requirement you attend every session and sit an assessment at the end.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

No previous formal qualifications are required for entry to these qualifications, and we offer the following levels: · Entry 3 focuses on developing skills for life and introducing you to skills for work; it is designed for adults with little or no prior experience of using digital devices or the internet. · Level 1 focuses on skills for work with a secondary focus on skills for life and is designed for adults with some experience of using digital devices and the internet but lacking secure basic digital skills.

You should normally have English skills at the level of your chosen qualification. As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
