Course intent
This course is designed for individuals relocating from Hong Kong to the UK and provides a comprehensive learning experience, teaching practical skills and offering valuable advice necessary to navigate and prepare for the UK job market. It covers essential skills and knowledge such as successful job searching, completing job applications, crafting standout CVs and cover letters, and preparing for interviews, the course ensures a well-rounded preparation for your professional journey in the United Kingdom.
These classes will be real time online sessions via Zoom.
Important
This course is taught in English and will be right for you if you're aged 18 or over and your English language speaking level is intermediate or advanced. Before booking for your place, please use our English Self-Assessment Form to check your level.
If you are already attending one of our English for Hongkongers BN(O) courses, please make sure that this course is at a different time to your English course.

- CV updating - CV layouts and formats, example CVs.
- Learn what information to include in your CV to make it impactful and relevant.
- Understand how to highlight your skills, experiences, and achievements effectively.
- Create a Draft CV
Preparing for interview
- List questions most likely to be asked and questions to ask at an interview.
- Learn positive non-verbal communication for an interview.
- Find out how to follow up after an interview.
- Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values
For courses of more than one session, you will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided.

- A computer/laptop /tablet with a fully updated browser.

Once enrolled on this course you will receive detailed instructions for taking part online.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need access to a computer/laptop/tablet with a reliable internet connection, working microphone, and webcam. If you struggle to read printed text on a screen, you may find it beneficial to have access to a printer to make your own hard copies of resources.
This is a live, interactive course and you will need to log on at the given time to access the course.
