This course will give parents/carers the first step tools to obtain the skills and knowledge needed to make a lasting positive impact and change to family life
What will I learn?
This is a FREE online workshop designed to provide parents and carers with an understanding of the concept of your child’s masking. This course is aimed at parents with children and teenagers.
Learners will
- Explore the different ways and environments in which your child may mask.
- Discuss some expert views on masking – is it a useful strategy for your child to use?
- Consider some strategies which you may adopt at home to support your child and your broader family.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is for parents/carers who reside in Surrey with children and teenagers who want to understand more about the concept of masking and how they can support their child. This is delivered online via Zoom.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need to:
- Have your camera on
- Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course.
- Please attend all sessions
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera
- A pen and paper
- Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts.

What can I do when I finish the course?
At the end of this course, we will give you details of what you may wish to move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with Surrey Adult Learning, a college or employment.
Additional Information
We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
