Course intent

This course will establish a range of styles and techniques of Watercolour Painting through the study and practise of traditional and more contemporary artists.

What will I learn?

You will learn to:

  • Develop the use of tone, colour, composition and perspective
  • Gain confidence in using watercolour materials
  • To take part in group reviews and discussions
  • Explore a range of techniques and styles from the traditional to the more modern
  • Have access to one-to-one support as well as group discussions on various topics
  • Develop personal expression through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration techniques.

    Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

    This course is suitable for all abilities. Those with some experience of Watercolour would be helpful although this is not essential.

    What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

    In discussion with your tutor you may like to progress onto further art courses at SAL.
