Cookery Workshop - Portuguese & Scandinavian Bakes

Course intent

Portuguese baking, famous for its buttery vanilla custard tart with flaky puff pastry. Yum! This workshop will teach you to make the mouth-watering bake.

Tangy raspberry treats and sticky cinnamon buns, you’ll be all set to create your own Hygge moments with our delicious bakes from Scandinavia for you to learn and enjoy

What will I learn?

During this workshop, you will produce:

• Kanelbullar - Swedish Cinnamon Buns
• Hinbaersnitter – Danish Raspberry Slices
• Pastéis de Nata ~ Portuguese Custard Tarts

  Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

  This course is designed for a range of cookery abilities, but not absolute beginners.

  What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

  Please ensure you have completed the following before the first session:

• It is essential all cookery learners click this link https://customer.surreycc.gov.uk/sal-cookery-checklist - complete and submit.
• You will be emailed a workbook. It will outline the ingredients & resources you need to bring and those that will be supplied.
• Inform adultlearning@surreycc.gov.uk if you need any adaptations to the recipes.
• A container to take your dish(es) home

  We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
