Tap Dance - All Abilities

Course intent

Tap dancing gets the heart rate up. It tones major muscle groups in the legs and core and is a super fun and sociable way to stay in shape. Noisy fun dancing!

What will I learn?

.You will be learning:

  • The basic tap dance steps, sequences & combinations, building to a choreographed routine.
  • By the end of the course, you will learn essential tap techniques & how to shift the weight from one foot to the other.
  • Improved muscle memory, which will improve your balance, coordination, and control.
  • How to strengthen your core, which has numerous health benefits
  • Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

    This course is open to all, from complete beginners to those who are wanting to refresh their skills

    What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

    .Tap shoes will be essential and should be brought to every lesson. You will need to wear clothing that you can easily move in such as t-shirt and leggings. Please bring a water bottle. There are fountains to refill in the centre.

    What can I do when I finish the course?

    .In discussion with your tutor, we would encourage learners to reenrol for the next term.

    Alternatively, we have other dance courses which may compliment this course and other fitness courses.

    .We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
