Explore the complex world of emotional eating habits and how they impact our relationship with food. Discover how forming new habits and practising mindful eating can transform not only your relationship with food but also your weight, health, and overall well-being. Learn practical strategies to break free from emotional eating patterns and cultivate a healthier mindset towards food.
Join us for a supportive group led by Registered Nutritionist and NHS Health Coach to understand what triggers your patterns of over eating and how to break the cycle of yo-yo dieting. This course is essential for anyone wanting to lose and more importantly maintain their goal weight.
What will I learn?
You will gain invaluable insights into dismantling unhelpful thinking patterns that sabotage your relationship with food, diet, and eating. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques, we'll uncover and challenge years of ingrained core beliefs that hold you back from making positive changes to your eating habits.
Session 1: Understanding that we are in control of our own health out comes and that it is up to us (Thoughts, Feelings, & Behaviours) to self-regulate in order to exert that control. This session is founded in CBT principles.
Session 2: An exploration into the different types of hunger: Emotional Hunger Vs. Physical Hunger. Can we tell the difference and how do we know when to eat.
Session 3: How to deal with multiple voices in your mind telling you food is the answer to your emotional state even when you are not hungry. · Session 4: Addressing why we sabotage our best efforts at weight management. Looks at our relationship with ourselves by exploring poor body image, self-esteem, self worth and self love. · Session 5: The Johari Window exercise helps improve self-awareness and exploration of our behaviours and relationship to food and eating. · Session 6: Exploring the different types of Motivation and what we can do when we don’t feel motivated to make healthy choices. · Session 7: Challenging distorted thoughts through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) basic principles. Working through cognitive distortions. · Session 8: Based in James Clears work on Atomic Habits, what small habitscould be change or tweak over time (the 1%) behaviours that could made a significant difference to our future health and weight
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is suitable for everyone, all abilities. This course works particularly well alongside your personal choice of weight loss diet. Learners maintain their goal weight for an extended period when engaging in this course.
It will be delivered through live online sessions using Zoom. To participate, you will need:

- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop /tablet with a fully updated browser
- microphone and webcam.
Once enrolled, you will receive instructions for joining Zoom.
