Manual Bookkeeping - Stage 2 [HPT]

Course intent

This is a follow-on course from Manual Bookkeeping - Stage 1 and provides good foundation to those who wish to go on to study accounting qualifications. Bookkeeping is the record-keeping process of financial accounting, and involves preparing source documents for all transactions, operations, and other events of a business.

What will I learn?

.You will:

  • Understand Double Entry to Trial Balance and the preparation of Financial Statements.
  • Look at Capital v Revenue Expenditure
  • Be introduced to the yearend adjustments to Financial Statements for inventory, accruals and prepayments, depreciation and bad debts.
  • Use journals and the correction of errors.
  • Prepare control accounts.
  • Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

    Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

    This course is for

  • Anyone who has attended Stage 1 and you must have basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Anyone interested in developing their bookkeeping knowledge for personal or career development

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

.Please bring pens, pencils, eraser, ruler notepad/paper and calculator (basic).

.In discussion with your tutor, you may like to progress onto another Surrey Adult learning course, such as:
