Course intent
Discover tricks of the trade from professional florists, create beautiful arrangements and gain knowledge of flowers, foliage and accessories.
What will I learn?
You will learn to:
- Create a variety of seasonal flower arrangements and hand tied designs in both contemporary and traditional themes
- Identify the elements and principles of design as used in floristry and flower arranging
- Use colour to enhance the designs created to suit the environment they are to be placed in
- The importance of a clean and tidy studio
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is suitable for all abilities. No previous experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a love of flowers. Also, for those with some experience of working with flowers who like to extend their knowledge and skills.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You need to bring:
- A notebook and pen
- Scissors
- A bucket for flowers
- A plastic sheet or cloth to work on
- A small knife
- An apron and closed toe shoes
- Flowers and foliage
The fee does not cover the cost of materials. A list of materials (including flowers and foliage) will be sent out prior to the start date.

What can I do when I finish the course?
Further short courses and weekly classes are available, covering a range of topics from seasonal specialities to wedding flowers & themed designs.

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
