Course intent
Refine your skills, knowledge, and expertise in this fascinating and analytical card game. At this stage in your Bridge playing, you may be thinking of joining a local Bridge club or playing competitively and this course will allow you to make the most of such opportunities, extending your technique and playing skills.
What will I learn?
Some or all the following will be included during the course:
- demonstrate your bidding knowledge and application of the ACOL bidding system
- demonstrate improved playing skills
- play more competitively
- show high level defensive skills
Our courses build on past learning, week by week, to develop new skills and abilities. You will find you make the most progress if you attend every taught lesson and complete any self-directed study opportunities provided.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is suitable for those who have completed at least 3 years of Bridge playing. You may be asked to study independently for 10 minutes a day.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You may be required to purchase the English Bridge Union (EBU) Beginning Bridge Book One. Please discuss this with your tutor at the first lesson before buying this textbook.
What can I do when I finish the course?
In discussion with your tutor, you may wish to progress from this course to Advancers. Our Bridge courses are planned to provide a clear pathway for progression, through the academic year, and beyond.
