Tai Chi - Yang style 24 Form & Chi Kung

Course intent

The intent of the course is to introduce the microcosmic orbit into the practice of several Chi Kung health exercises as well as the Yang style Tai Chi form (24 form).

Tai Chi is an ancient oriental art that over time helps revitalise mind, body and spirit through the learning and practice of a variety of movements (Chi Kung health exercises and the “form”, performed slowly with precision.

What will I learn?

.You will learn a variety of exercises to develop balance, body awareness and mental focus to prepare you for following the Chi King and form movements. Exercises will be repeated frequently to consolidate learning and improve your practical abilities.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

.Ideally you should have some previous experience of Tai Chi, as we will be undertaking an overall practice of the form and Chi Kung sequence. You will be able to follow verbal instructions, observe and copy physical movements and use spatial awareness within a group.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

.Please wear comfortable, loose clothing, that will allow you to raise your arms above your head. You can wear flexible flat shoes, socks, or be barefoot. A comfortable yoga mat and a blanket would be ideal but not essential.

What can I do when I finish the course?

.At the end of the workshop, you may wish to continue to explore Tai Chi and Chi Kung with other such courses run on a weekly basis, at Beginner or Improver level.
