Course intent
This online course will develop your understanding of the principles and practice of Tai Chi, so if you have practised Tai Chi for one or two years and want to progress to a wider range of exercises, that provide more of a challenge, this course is for you.
The intent of this online course is to develop your understanding and practice of Tai Chi and using a range of more refined and powerful exercises, to help you revitalise your mind, body and spirit.
What will I learn?
.You will refine “the form” and deepen your awareness of your body, weight, alignment and how to move in space. Exercises are repeated frequently to consolidate learning and improve performance skills. Your tutor may include Qigong exercises, which are complementary to the Tai Chi forms.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is for those who have at least one year’s experience of Beginner level Tai Chi.
This course will be delivered through live online sessions using Zoom. To participate, you will need:
- An email address
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop /tablet with a fully updated browser
- microphone and webcam.
- Once enrolled, you will receive instructions for joining Zoom.
- Wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to reach up and bend down.
- Tai Chi is practised with bare feet or soft soled shoes
- Have a bottle of drinking water with you.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

You will need a suitable space, in which you can move safely, at least 2m x 2m.
What can I do when I finish the course?
.At the end of the term, you may wish to re-enrol on the next Tai Chi - Improvers course, and at the end of the academic year, in discussion with your tutor, you can decide what the best progression for you might be.
