Just Drawing - Beginners

Course intent

Learn the basics of how to draw. Discover how to use drawing materials and explore how to draw what you can see.

What will I learn?

You will learn:

• How to use pencil- the different grades and how to use them
• How to use a drawing pen
• Line drawing
• Shading and tone
• How to start a drawing
• How to use measuring
• Simple perspective
• How to design a successful composition

  Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

  Complete beginners.

  What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

  For the first lesson bring:

• Pencils H, HB, 2B
• Cartridge paper, preferably a sketchbook
• Rubber
• Pencil sharpener

  What can I do when I finish the course?

  Progress onto courses that specialise in other media or drawing skills.

  We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
